Switching It Up A Bit

I'm trying a new thing...

I've purchased some gold filled wire and findings

and also some gold plated over sterling silver chain

It has a gold layer that is 1 micron thick which

apparently is 40 times thicker than most gold plated jewelry

I will be adding some gold pieces

to my Etsy shop

to give extra options for my customers

This is the first piece I have added to my Etsy shop

I am planning to make

some gold wire wrapped crystal pendant necklaces

and some gold wire wrapped crystal earrings

in plenty of time

for the upcoming festive season.

Do you have a preference for either gold or sterling silver jewelry or do you wear both?
Which is your favorite?

Breast Cancer Awareness

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month

If you've arrived from SHEKNOWS Canada
**Click here for October 2013 Breast Cancer Blog Post and Giveaway**

I'm writing this post from my perspective

as a Chemotherapy nurse

I am just wanting to call your attention to

Breast Cancer Awareness

and also want to encourage you to examine your breasts

on a regular basis and have your mammograms and

other diagnostic tests as prescribed by your

health care provider

Again this year I am including the link to an article from

Canadian Living Magazine

This article provides information about breast health

and instructs on how to do a proper breast self exam

Please familiarize yourselves with your breasts and learn

to properly examine your breasts.

You owe it to yourself to take the

best care of yourself

Ovarian Cancer Awareness and my "Aha" Moment

Have you ever had one of those moments

when you finally open your eyes and see something

that to others would be totally obvious?

Lol, well I had one of those moments this morning!!!

For years I have steered away from making bracelets

because of the sizing issue.

It always seemed that the bracelet was not the correct size

for the woman who fell in love with it.

I recently resized a bracelet for a customer

which basically means taking time to take the entire bracelet

apart and remake it from scratch.

September is Ovarian Cancer Awareness month and

this morning while I was making this

Teal Ovarian Cancer Awareness bracelet

it suddenly dawned on me that I could make

the length adjustable by incorporating an extender.

So simple yet it eluded me until now!!!

In the future I won't be hesitant to make bracelets!

Do you like to wear bracelets?
